Weyermann® Networking Events: Inaugural Meeting of the network „BEEN-i für Energieeffizienz“ (Bavarian Energy Efficiency Network Initiative)

As a pioneer in the use of new energy-saving technologies, we gladly accepted the invitation to the inaugural meeting of the “BEEN-i für Energieeffizienz” network in Titting, in Upper Bavaria, on Monday.

The BEEN-i initiative (Bavarian Energy Efficiency Network Initiative) is an initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.

The aim is to improve the energy efficiency of the Bavarian economy across the board by initiating energy efficiency networks. The initiative is currently supporting 67 networks with around 600 participating companies in carrying out energy-saving measures.

Through a regular exchange of experience, possible savings potentials of the individual companies shall be made available with less effort than thorugh singular energy consultations, and thus a reduction in energy costs shall be achieved.

A new BEEN-i energy efficiency network (“Energy efficiency in Bavarian breweries and dairies”) was founded on Monday with around 15 participants, mainly from the brewing industry as well as the food technology and plant construction sectors.

Representing Weyermann® Malts, General Plant Manager Jürgen Buhrmann and Leonhard Habermann, General Operations Management Assistant / Project Management, were present at the festive event in the courtyard of the Gutmann brewery and the inn “Zur Post”.

At the courtyard of the Gutmann brewery, the afternoon began with a lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Brautsch, Institut für Energie Technologie IfE GmbH, who highlighted the topic of energy efficiency in breweries and the goals of the network.

After a greeting from the deputy Bavarian Prime Minister & Bavarian Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger, Michael Gutmann demonstrated how the transformation of his brewery to climate-neutral production was executed successfully.

The official founding of the network eventually took place at the “Zur Post” inn and enabled the first direct dialogue and exchange of experiences among the participants.

We are happy to be part of this important network and to be able to make a valuable contribution to energy-efficient acting with our know-how!
