Weyermann® Works Meeting 2023

The Weyermann® works meeting 2023 took place in a new setting last Saturday at the invitation of our works council.

Employees from all four Weyermann® locations – Bamberg, Hassfurt, Leesau and Clingen – came together for this occasion at the Weyermann® Logistics Center on Brennerstrasse in Bamberg.

Works council chairwoman Katharina Prien opened the meeting with introductory welcoming words and presented the planned schedule. Then Weyermann® managing partner Sabine Weyermann took the floor.

After the last company meeting had taken place in 2019 due to COVID-19 and the associated precautions, they began their report by presenting successfully completed projects and investments from the past years. These included, among others, the new germination plant in Clingen, the new bagging silos in Hassfurt and the photovoltaic system in Leesau. She also discussed the diverse range of training courses (265 in 2023) as well as passed and planned audits and shared interesting data and facts from the human resources department.

The list of the numerous employee benefits clearly reflected how much Weyermann® focuses on the individual. In addition to a safe workplace and a good working atmosphere, the diverse offering from the Weyermann® management also includes supplementary health insurance, a daycare, an employee library, the generous sponsoring of team bonding events, foot care and massages, home-baked bread and much more.

Sabine Weyermann also discussed the status quo on the global malt market and the challenges this presented. She concluded her speech with an outlook and compared the situation to a relay race. Every person in every department was asked to pass the baton to the right person. This was the only way the race could be completed successfully. Thereby one had to ensure that the baton didn‘t fall into the wrong hands.

After her very nice and informative speech, it was general plant manager Jürgen Buhrmann’s turn. He gave a comprehensive presentation of the mammoth construction project, the Caramel Malt Cathedral, which was ceremoniously put into operation in August this year after a planning and construction period of around 10 years. Katharina Prien finally ended the official part of the meeting with a short report on the works council’s area of activity.

After a delicious Weißwurst breakfast with non-alcoholic beer beverages from the Weyermann® brew manufacture to go along with, the attendees enjoyed the shared, open exchange across departments at the invitation of the Weyermann® management. They also gladly took advantage of the offer to visit the Caramel Malt Cathedral on a guided tour.

Many thanks to our efficient organization team from the marketing department for the excellent preparation of the event and to all further emploees involved for their commitment!

Many thanks to the party service Stuermer for the delicious catering!

We are now looking forward to rocking the last few weeks of 2023 together in accordance with Sabine Weyermann‘s favorite motto “Sich regen bringt Segen!” ( = „Hard work pays off“) and carrying the red and yellow spirit into the next year with a lot of joy and enthusiasm!
