22nd Weyermann® Classic Car Event

The sun was still high in the sky when a joyful buzz filled the air—accompanied by the scent of fine malts, freshly brewed coffee, and the spicy aroma of bratwurst wafting across the Weyermann® grounds.

Classic Cars from all directions lined up, transforming Brennerstrasse in Bamberg into a vibrant open-air museum on wheels. Many participants had traveled from afar to present their lovingly maintained vehicles.

Official Opening and Lively Activity

Managing Director Thomas Kraus-Weyermann and Operations Manager Jürgen Buhrmann officially opened the event, and soon the Weyermann® grounds were bustling with life.

The classic cars paraded through the open gates, bringing history to life: a cobalt blue Abarth 595, an orange Fiat 124 Spider, and a chrome-glinting BMW 323i E21.

Alongside the Weyermann® Villa, the Porsche 356 Club of Northern Bavaria showcased its classics, while other automotive rarities delighted visitors. Tractors stood proudly on the lawn and motorcycles lined up in Bräugasse, with lively conversations, laughter, and photography everywhere.

Between the historic brick buildings, more and more radiator emblems sparkled in the July sun as crowds paused to admire the spectacle.

The enthusiasm and pride of the exhibitors were palpable in every encounter. Many emphasized what an honor it was to secure a spot at what is often called “the most beautiful classic car meeting in Bavaria.”

Numerous owners shared that they have been attending regularly for over ten years, and that the event has long been a fixed date in the classic car scene’s calendar—until then, there’s tinkering, polishing, and restoration to ensure every vehicle shines in top form.

Although the Weyermann® Classic Car Meeting has been held for many years, 2025 was once again especially exciting, with vehicles on display that had never before been exhibited on our grounds.

Among the many automotive rarities, classics from the 1930s and 1940s stood out, such as the Ford Model A and legendary BMW models of the era. The 1960s and 1970s were represented by various VW Beetles—including the coveted “Brezelkäfer” with its distinctive split rear window, an icon of the postwar years and a true classic.

A particular highlight among British luxury vehicles was the rare Rolls-Royce Phantom Cabriolet, of which only four were ever built worldwide.

Italian classics from Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Ferrari lent the event a Mediterranean flair with their unmistakable design and sporty spirit. American legends such as striking Cadillacs, the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette, and Pontiac Star Chief rounded out the international field of automotive gems.

Unusual vehicles like the Messerschmitt Kabinenroller, a typical microcar of the 1950s, also drew plenty of attention. In the agricultural section, robust Unimogs and impressive Bulldogs underscored the event’s diversity.

Special thanks go to Mr. Laufer for his Bulldog demonstration and to the Sauer family, who presented a 12-cylinder Lamborghini engine on a test stand and started it several times to the delight of the audience. There was also the opportunity for young visitors to sit in a Formula 3 race car.

In this way, the event showcased the full spectrum of historic mobility—from automotive classics and microcars to agricultural machines.

Culinary Highlights and Refreshments

Those seeking refreshment enjoyed a freshly brewed cappuccino at the Coffee Bike Kemmer & Völkl—right next to the cake sale in the Weyermann® garden.

Dedicated Rotary Club members offered homemade treats for a good cause: all proceeds from coffee and cake went to Rotary’s social projects.

For hearty appetites, there were freshly grilled bratwursts in rolls. While children enjoyed ice cream, adults could sample the full range of Weyermann® beers at three different bars.

Favorites included freshly tapped Bamberger Hofbräu® Lager and malty Weyermann® Schlotfegerla®, but our house-mixed, sparkling Radler was also very popular in the summer heat.

For those preferring non-alcoholic options, Weyermann® IPAzero and Weyermann® Schlotfegerla® alcohol-free were available.

In the Weyermann® visitors center, visitors could enjoy a coffee tasting and browse products from Lebenshilfe Bamberg. At the Open Bottle Day, guests sampled the full variety of Bamberger Hofbräu® beers—from crisp Pils and characteristic Rotbier to robust Schwarzbier, smooth Helles, classic Lager, and distinctive Rauchbier—ensuring there was something for every taste.

Further culinary highlights were provided by the Tarte Flambée and Rolling Pots food trucks. Fresh bread was available at our company premises Werk 3 from our craft baker Friedrich Rauh.

Atmosphere and Community

The event offered far more than a glimpse of polished treasures: it was a meeting place for generations of classic car fans, a venue for exchange and a shared passion for technology and history. The atmosphere was marked by mutual respect and admiration for the dedication with which owners maintain and present their vehicles.

The diversity of participants was reflected in their stories: from weekend excursion drivers, to gardener Sebastian Niedermaier, who uses his Schneider Geräterträger 1976 tractor daily, to the owner of the BMW 323i—affectionately dubbed “Germany’s fastest wheelbarrow”—who takes part in multi-day classic car rallies.

Many reported that as children, they owned a miniature model of the very car they now drive. The range of vehicles spanned from Bulldogs and fire trucks to scooters and classic automobiles.
