Weyermann® Inside News – 65 Years of Jürgen Buhrmann – Joint Lunchtime BBQ with the Weyermann® Team

On Monday, 27 April 2026, the Weyermann® team at the Bamberg site celebrated the 65th birthday of Managing Director of Operations Jürgen Buhrmann with a joint lunchtime BBQ held on the forecourt of the Weyermann® canteen.

Around midday, the majority of employees gathered to mark this special occasion together in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

The culinary arrangements were provided by Metzgerei Stürmer’s street food catering, offering Franconian coarse house-style bratwursts in bread rolls, grilled pork steak burgers, turkey steak burgers, as well as vegetarian grilled cheese burgers.

A nostalgic gelato cart served ice cream as a sweet finale.

Accompanying the meal, non-alcoholic beers from the Weyermann® Brewing Manufactory as well as additional non-alcoholic beverages were served.

Shared time in a festive atmosphere

With the lunchtime BBQ, Jürgen Buhrmann created a fitting setting to look back on his 65th birthday together with the employees.

Already in his invitation, he had spoken of “65 precious, exciting and colourful years,” thereby emphasising the personal character of the celebration.

The shared gathering on the company premises was marked by appreciation, positive spirits and many conversations. The celebration offered space to pause and to honour this special day together.

Words of thanks from Jürgen Buhrmann

At the heart of the celebration was the address by Jürgen Buhrmann, who spoke to those present with personal and appreciative words.

He reflected on the value of spending time together and encouraged everyone to consciously focus on the here and now.

He expressed this particularly impressively with the words:

“Enjoy the time, enjoy the moment, enjoy the here and now.”

At the same time, Jürgen Buhrmann expressed his sincere thanks to the Executive Management – Sabine Weyermann, Thomas Kraus-Weyermann and Franziska Weyermann – for making the joint celebration possible.

He also extended his gratitude to everyone involved in the organisation, set-up and overall arrangement of the midday event.

With very personal words, Jürgen Buhrmann addressed his wife Ulrike, who has shared his path for 42 years and has accompanied him with much love, patience and many valuable experiences.

Another expression of thanks was directed to Thomas Kraus-Weyermann, with whom he shares a long-standing connection dating back to their time together in Freising.

Appreciation from Executive Management

On behalf of Executive Management, Sabine Weyermann honoured the long professional journey of Jürgen Buhrmann, who has been associated with Weyermann® for 35 years.

She recalled his career path from Freising and Dortmund through his role as Head of the Weyermann® Laboratory in Bamberg, followed by positions as Production Manager, Plant Manager Bamberg, and ultimately Managing Director of Operations.

She particularly highlighted his professional clarity, close connection to production, strong quality mindset and strategic orientation.

Reflecting on his impact, she stated:

“From my perspective, this is precisely where the true greatness of his person lies – and of his position as well.”

Sabine Weyermann further emphasised that over decades, Jürgen Buhrmann has been one of the key figures shaping the family-owned company. Developments on such a scale, she noted, do not arise solely from structures and processes, but above all from people who assume responsibility, understand interconnections and provide stability and direction at critical points.

Congratulations from plant management and workforce

Congratulations were also conveyed by representatives of plant management and the workforce. On behalf of the employees across all sites, Emir Frank‑Iljazi, Weyermann® Plant Manager Bamberg, extended his best wishes to Jürgen Buhrmann.

These congratulations were accompanied by a bouquet of flowers and a card.

The words shared by colleagues underlined how highly valued Jürgen Buhrmann is within the company and how closely his work is connected to daily operations across the various locations.

A gift with personal significance

As a joint gift from management and the workforce, Jürgen Buhrmann received a wood-fired plancha grill.

With this, the gifting parties picked up on a personal preference of the honouree and presented him with a gift of special significance.

In addition, a Weyermann® Krüchla was presented by Executive Management as a further sign of appreciation and thanks.

Jürgen Buhrmann accepted the gifts with visible joy and concluded his remarks by inviting everyone present to raise a glass together once more in celebration of life.

The lunchtime gathering thus became a thoroughly successful birthday celebration, characterised by personal appreciation, shared time and many good conversations.
