Double Gold for Two Weyermann® Single Malt Whiskies

Two whiskies, two gold medals: At this year’s Bayern Brand Awards 2026, our two Weyermann® Single Malt Whiskies, Triple Cask and Special Eight, impressed the expert jury.

This means that two gold awards go to the Weyermann® Distillery in Bamberg:

Weyermann® Special Eight Single Malt Whisky

The Bayern Brand Awards take place every two years and are organized by the three Bavarian distillers’ associations from Franconia, Southeast Bavaria, and Lindau. The submitted products are checked for marketability and subsequently undergo sensory evaluation by trained and certified examiners.

In 2026, 484 products from 116 companies were submitted. The assessment took place at the sensory evaluation center of the Bavarian State Research Center for Viticulture and Horticulture in Veitshöchheim.

Weyermann® Single Malt Whisky Triple Cask matured in three casks: two ex-bourbon casks and one ex-Islay cask. Fruity notes of ripe apricot and orange combine with caramel, cocoa, toffee, vanilla, and a delicate woody note. A mild finish harmoniously completes the tasting experience.

Weyermann® Special Eight Single Malt Whisky combines eight selected Weyermann® malts. Its bouquet is reminiscent of white grapes, ripe pome fruit, and banana. Delicate notes of nut confectionery, vanilla, and brittle add further depth.

The two gold medals are wonderful recognition of the work of the Weyermann® Distillery and of the special combination of malt expertise, artisanal distillation, and barrel maturation.
