Weyermann® Family Worldwide: Agraria from Brazil

At the end of July, we had the pleasure of welcoming the dedicated team from our Brazilian distribution partner Agraria to the vibrant red and yellow world of Weyermann® in Bamberg. During a multi-day seminar, our guests from South America gained valuable insights into the philosophy, product diversity, and quality standards of Weyermann® Malts – hands-on, inspiring, and full of warmth.

The participants were accompanied by our International Malting & Brewing Experts Alirio Caldera, Axel Jany, and Fedor Nikolashkin, as well as our brewmaster Constantin Förtner. Together, they created a diverse program that seamlessly combined theory and practice.

The seminar featured a variety of highlights:

  • Brewing Practice – A classic lager was brewed using Weyermann® Barke® Malt, with active participation from our Brazilian guests.
  • Baking Workshop – Participants explored the applications of our malt flours and malt extracts in baking and enjoyed hands-on experience.
  • Malthouse Tour – A guided tour through our specialty malt production offered fascinating insights into the refinement of our malts.
  • Expert Presentations – Our team shared current developments on terroir and heirloom malts, our malt portfolio, and the unique aspects of specialty malt production.
  • Logistics Center Visit – A tour of our modern logistics and loading facilities completed the picture of our global supply chain.
  • Tastings – The sensory diversity of beer, malt and whisky was explored through professional tastings.

A special highlight was the shared Churrasco evening, where Franconian hospitality met Brazilian joy in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. The open exchange, warm interactions, and shared passion for malt and beer made the seminar a memorable experience for everyone involved.
