Triple Success for the Weyermann® Pilot Brewery at the Finest Beer Selection 2026!

At this year’s Finest Beer Selection, three beers from the Weyermann® Pilot Brewery impressed the international panel of experts in an independent blind tasting.

Weyermann® No.1 Schlotfegerla® – 96 points

Weyermann® No.54 Ick bin Himbeere – 94 points

Weyermann® No.100 Centennial Isaria 1924® – 90 points

As a result, all three beers earned a place in the Finest Beer Selection – an award granted exclusively to beers achieving 90 points or more in the 100-point scoring system.

A total of 843 beers from 122 breweries in 15 countries were submitted to the Finest Beer Selection 2026. During the three-day expert tasting at the renowned Doemens Academy for Brewing and Beverage Technology in Gräfelfing, the international panel of experts evaluated each beer individually through a blind tasting process. Of all submitted beers, 285 achieved the required 90 points or more, securing a place in the Finest Beer Selection 2026.

The Finest Beer Selection by Meininger & Doemens is known for its demanding tasting format. An international panel of experts evaluates the submitted beers in a two-stage blind tasting process. Alongside a detailed aroma profile, the “Finest Beer Profile,” the overall sensory assessment is a key focus. The result provides a precise classification at a highly professional level.

Particularly noteworthy is our Weyermann® classic, Weyermann® No.1 Schlotfegerla®, which, with 96 points, ranks among the top-rated beers of the competition. With its characteristic smokiness and complex malt notes, it represents the traditional beer culture of Bamberg.

The other award-winning beers further highlight the diversity of the Weyermann® Pilot Brewery. With 94 points, the fruity Weyermann® No.54 Ick bin Himbeere impressed the judges, while Weyermann® No.100 Centennial Isaria 1924® demonstrated its harmonious combination of hop aromas and malt character, earning 90 points.
