19th Weyermann® Classic Car Event
Once again the first Tuesday of July attracted numerous fans of historic vehicles to Bamberg, who wanted to share their passion and enthusiasm for vintage cars on two and four wheels at the annual Weyermann® Classic Car Event.
It was comparable to the finish line at a racing track, when Weyermann® Managing Director Thomas Kraus-Weyermann gave his “Go” for the opening of the gates to the historic premises in the afternoon and the noble cars from Franconia and the region came rolling onto the premises under the curious glances of the visitors.
This year Mrs. Gutgesell from Michelau brought along the oldest classic car with her Ford A, built in 1929. The Pierce Arrow, built in 1933, from Mr. Halama from Zapfendorf and the BMW 326, built in 1932, from Mr. Schubart from Coburg were also among the oldest cars of over 450 classic vehicles at this year´s event.
** Uniqueness through historical architecture combined with classic vehicles **
Mr. Mayer from the Bamberg district Gartenstadt came with his beloved Vespa PX80, his “honey“, as he says. “She was built in 1984 and has 2883km so far. It´s still the original paint and looks like new. I will not give her away.” Mr. Mayer has been involved with classic cars since forever and is a regular guest at our event. “This historical architecture combined with the classic vehicles is simply unique. It´s just something special. Next year, my Corvette will be historic and then I will bring her here.” he rejoices.
** The Weyermann® classic car event as a personal highlight event **
Mr. Michaelek from Bamberg worked on his Alfa Romeo GTV6, built in 1983, for 20 years and three months, which he received in 1996, and gladly presented at our event. It was already his sixth visit to the classic car event and for him even a reason to take a day off. “The Weyermann® Classic Car Event is my personal highlight event throughout the year. I take a day off from work and do nothing else that day. The first Tuesday next year is already blocked in my calendar.”
** Atmosphere and ambience not comparable **
The classic car fans agreed that the atmosphere and the ambience at the event were not comparable with anything else. “We have been in the classic car scene for a long time and the Weyermann® Classic Car event can´t be compared to anything else. We like the atmosphere here so much, it´s gigantic”, said Mr. Weber, who came along in his Brixner Bergspyder 2.
“I´ve been coming to this event for at least 15 years and it´s simply the unique atmosphere and ambience here”, says Mr. Fischer from Rossach, who presented his Opel Rekord C Caravan, built in 1970. “In addition, I have a heart for brewers and brew in the communal brewery in Rossach, where beer is brewed with Weyermann® malts. We love to promote the Franconian culture and this event is a part of it.”
At the 19th get-together of the classic car scene around the specialty mating company there was much more to discover besides the lovely classic vehicles. Visitors could take a glimpse at the new facilities of our Weyermann® brew manufacture and admire the art of stone sculptor Ingo Siegismund, who makes unique sculptures and objects from stone and steel scrap.
In the Weyermann® Craft Beer Fan Shop the beers of our Bamberger Hofbräu® line were up for tasting as well as coffee from the Lebenshilfe Bamberg, who roasted some fresh coffee with their own coffee roaster.
For the first time the “Oldtimer Verein Historischer Stadtverkehr Bamberg e.V.” association was among the exhibitors and presented itself with the Weyermann® city bus in the Bamberger Hofbräu® design.
The classic car fans talked shop about their beloved vehicles into the late evening hours and enjoyed some Weyermann® Schlotfegerla® and Bamberger Hofbräu® Lager beer, sausages, tarte flambée, coffee and cake as well as ice cream.
All Weyermann® beer specialties inclusive all six beers of the Bamberger Hofbräu® line as well as the coffee of the Lebenshilfe Bamberg and many merchandise articles are available at the Weyermann® Craft Beer Fan Shop.
The Weyermann® city busses can be booked as shuttle busses for private purposes, such as weddings, anniversary events or other festive events.
100 employees and helpers showed off awesome teamwork and once again offered all visitors an unforgettable experience at the 19th Weyermann® Classic Car Event thanks to perfect organization and preparation.
