At the age of 26, the graduated engineer gets responsibility for the engineering management. His cousin Rolf Weyermann works as a commercial manager. In 1972 and 1973, he becomes the President of EUROMALT, the umbrella association of the European malthouses. Due to his merits, the Bavarian and German malt industry celebrates a great comeback and a prosperous development.

Adele Weyermann, senior chief of the Weyermann Company, celebrates her 60th birthday. After her husbands death she lives a solitary life. Congratulations come from her sister-in-law Fanny Weyermann, wife of Carl Weyermann, and granddaughter Irmtraut Weyermann.

The economic miracle of these years comes to the Weyermann Company too! During the next four years the kiln 1, 2 and 4 will be turned from the now working three floor kilns into high capacity one floor kilns with tipping kilns. Executive firms are Steinecker, Freising, and Seeger, Stuttgart. In 1965 the soaking house is built (2 soaking houses with a 60 tons capacity) and the germination boxes K 6 (capacity 65 tons), K 7 (capacity 75 tons) and K 8 (capacity 75 tons) get installed.

Rolf Weyermann becomes elected as the new President of the German Maltster Association. He will work in this function until 1984.

A huge request for the Weyermann Pilsner malt specialty makes the construction of one more germination box more than necessary: K 6 (capacity 92 ton, distributor: Seeger, Stuttgart). A special railway turning platform gets modernised, which assures the shipment by railway-cars and does correspond to the environmental protection.

The intensive expansion of the production capacity is followed by investments in loading capacities. Two new loading silos (each has a capacity of 25 tons, producer is Eyrich, Hardheim) assure a fast loading process of the highly requested malt specialties. The whole plant of the Weyermann Company becomes a listed building (conservation of 1973 ancient monuments) and an Industry monument.

This year the energy supply of the Weyermann plant gets changed into environment friendly natural gasoline.

The most visible investment of the 70-ies will be the big storage silo construction in Memmelsdorfer Street/Brennerstreet with a storage capacity of 5.000 tons of barley.

Frank and Irmtraut Flämig, daughter of Rolf and Irma Weyermann, celebrate the birth of their son. Following the family tradition they name him Michael. In this time she meets Thomas Kraus, her later husband, but they lose sight of each other during their second studies.

The worldwide first waste heat recovery facility gets installed on the Weyermann plant. This equipment makes a malt production possible with an energy saving of quite 30 %. Heinz Weyermann initiates the application for a patent. Kilns 1 and 4 are equipped with a cross flow heat exchanger, like kiln 2 in 1979 too.

100th Anniversary of Weyermann Malt! A by the artist Hans Liska designed jubilee card is based on the well-known painting “Schützenliesl” by Friedrich August von Kaulbach (1881).

In honour of Commercial Councillor Dr. phil. h. c. Rudolf Weyermann a street in a part of Bamberg, called Gaustadt, is named Weyermann Street by the School and Cultural Center of the City of Bamberg. The German Day of Maltsters takes place under the presidency of Rolf Weyermann. One more investment is the extension of a germination box by the Hauner Company in Diespeck (K 1 with a capacity of 120 tons what means the loading content of five trucks).

Before his 60th birthday, Heinz Weyermann passes away on the 3rd of August, leaving a huge break within family and company, which is not refillable for so many years. Sabine, his daughter, takes over his part and starts her work after finishing her studies as a graduated engineer in brew sciences together with the fathers cousin Rolf Weyermann. With concentrated power they make the company thriving and prospering.

Due to the engagement in sales and the top quality, the demand of special malts boosts rapidly. That’s why a fifths more roasting drum (type Tornado, producer: Barth, Ludwigsburg) with a thermic afterburning especially for the environmental protection comes into operation.

One more time the knot gets tied.: Sabine Weyermann marries Thomas Kraus (born in 1957). They have been meeting during their studies in Munich at the University of Weihenstephan, but later they lost sight of each other. When Sabine tried to sell some malt to the Kronen-Brauerei in Dortmund, she meets again Thomas Kraus, brew master in there. She will never sell malt, but she says YES to the most beautiful proposal of marriage, without any hesitation. Short time later there is another reason to be full of joy: Franziska, daughter of Sabine and Thomas, is born in 1990. Thomas Kraus joins the management of the Weyermann Company. From now on starts time of investments.
