We were very happy to medal this year with our Sunrye. The brew was built for drinkability, we used around 16% Weyermann Rye malt with a comparable amount of wheat and a touch of aromatic malt for complexity. Saaz is the dominant hop which doesnt compete with the nice crisp malt notes. I would be honored to have a XL Weyermann shirt to wear! I am not sure when I will get back to Europe but you can count on a visit when that time comes.
Thanks again

Howdy Ramona;
Thanks again for the great malt, we could not produce our award winning Bohemian Pilsner without it!!
Luckily for us we have not changed the recipe since our original Bronze medal of 2004.
I have tried really hard to keep it as simple as possible and let the the yeast and the malt and the hops really do their things.
One day I would galdly take you up on the offer of visiting Bamberg, and even seeing the malting plant as well.
Say hello to Andreas for us, and we will look for you in Austin, TX at the Craft Brewers Conference.
Cheers!
