Great American Beer Festival

The Great American Beer Festival is one of the most important events during the year Weyermann® is attending. To give all the employees in Bamberg a better idea about the great festival quality manager, Andreas Richter, beer sommelier and judge of the GABF, just held an in-house presentation on the event as part of the Weyermann® academy program.
During the last 30 years the festival made some remarkable developments. In 2011 49.000 visitors came to Denver, Colorado. In 1982 only 24 breweries attended, but in 2011 there were 466 breweries present. In the early days there were 47 out for tasting and the last year the judges had 2400 entered into the competition. Last but not least the numbers of the beers rose from 99 to 3900.
These statistics are so positive and impressive that each fall Weyermann® is already looking forward to the Great American Beer Festival, to be part of this great community and Weyermann® can proudly say, that many of the participating breweries brew their beers with Weyermann® malt.
