With critical eyes Björn Bleier, head of the pilot brewery of the Doemens Academy, observed Sebastian Priller-Riegle, the actual Beer-Sommelier-World-Champion and owner of the brewery Riegele in Augsburg, when he brewed his World-Champion-Beer. The organizers as well as the sponsors of the upcoming world champion ship of beer sommeliers are looking forward to taste this Indian Pale Ale, a special Beer style from England. Around two month the beer, brewed with malt from Weyermann® will be in the storage tanks before the professional beer tasters will try and judge this special brew.
“Each finalist of the champion ship received not only a certificate, but also valuable prizes, sponsored by different companies. The new world champion will also receive the gift of the union of “Die Freien Brauer”, as did the last years` champion, Karl Schiffner, the brewing of the next world-champion-beer In one of the participating breweries. The special about this years` world-champion-brew was that Sebastian Priller-Riegele with his brewery is also a member of the union. And the idea is not that a champion is brewing his beer in his own brewery. So that´s why we made a big event out of it and Sebastian Priller-Riegele brewed the world-champion-beer at the Doemens academy, supported by sponsors, such as Weyermann®, explains Dr. Norbert Vidal, head of marketing Doemens Academy. Ulrich Ferstl, Weyermann® customer relations and also a beer sommelier and participant for the world champion ship 2011 witnessed live this brewing event at Doemens.
