Weyermann® Malt – the future camp

In April the Weyermann® malt company assisted the German Economy Foundation with their project “business venture: youth”. Ten teenagers with migrant family background and with negative attitude to school and/or apprenticeship did a practical oriented internship at Weyermann®.
Goal of this future camp was the introduction of these teenagers to the requirements of the business world and to gain some key qualifications. In detail this camp should give them better options in acquiring an internship and to start building up a network.
The project “business venture: youth” helps the teenagers to find their strength and interests. The project assists the specific target group to prepare them for the business world and to motivate them to an apprenticeship. In the same time the project prepares the economy and the public to the special needs and potentials of these young people with a more difficult starting position.
Weyermann® was happy to assist this project and to welcome the teenagers. The group got shown around the companies different departments and they got to learn about the different apprenticeship possibilities and options at Weyermann®. They heard about the special apprenticeship learning sessions, the apprenticeship excursions and many more offers, all Weyermann employees are invited to participate and use, such as internal trainings, language courses, libraries etc.
Some of the Weyermann® apprentices gave the teenagers some hands on introduction in their work and apprenticeships as brewers, maltsters, specialist for the food industry and industrial clerks.
Weyermann® is proud to be an exemplary training company. In all departments we train apprentices and they come from all different school backgrounds. Often they also have migrant family backgrounds, but get integrated very well into the Weyermann® world.
