Weyermann® is socially very active, not only within its own company, the hometown Bamberg, the region, the brewing industry, but also in many different other ways. One great example gives a donation in 2009 that went to South India. Sabine Weyermann together with the association of former Weihenstephan students donated 2000 EUR to the association “Zukunft für Menschen in Südindien (ZMS) - Future of the people in South India”. On one side Sabine Weyermann wanted to help some of the poorest people in the world, on the other side she wanted to be grateful for her and her husbands, Thomas Kraus-Weyermann, safe and healthy return back home from Mumbai, Bombay at the end of 2008, while the severe bombing in India happened. Sabine Weyermann is personally touched to hear that the money was used to built a house for a family in the village of Colachel. The father got badly sick and cannot work anymore. Both daughters are going to school and needed financial support to afford further education. Now being able to live in a proper house their circumstances of living approved tremendously, reports Gerhard Albert, head of the ZMS.
